This weekend we are celebrating the freedom we enjoy here in America. No matter where we find ourselves, whether here or around the world, we are Americans. No one can take that away from us. We are Americans - and we are free.

The freedom we enjoy as Americans has always come from those "who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life". These words, from the third verse of "America the Beautiful" remind us all what you, as a family, have been reminding all of us for nearly three months - "Freedom is not free".

We all must take time this weekend to remember all of those who, when their country needed them, have said, "Here am I. Send me".

And, all of us here on the homefront must be willing to say to them, "Thank you. We will support you - no matter what. We will lift you up in our prayers. We will pray God's protection over you. We will pray that His love and comfort surround you - no matter what you have to face or endure. We will pray you home. No matter what State you are from - we will pray you home. Home to the United States of America. And, when you return, we will say 'Thank you' - no matter what".

Let each of us take a moment to remember all those who are serving in our Military right now. They may be stationed here in America, or they may be serving in countries far away from home. They may be in the Army, or the Marines, or the Coast Guard, or the Navy, or the Air Force, or in their State's National Guard. But, they are all our sons and daughters. Each of them is an American child.
