Message: One of the hottest items here in the Houston area is the yellow ribbon magnetic "Support our Troops" emblem. One on the most asked questions is "Got a soldier over there?", and the most common reply is "Thousands." I've had a Navy man over there on the minesweeper Devastator, but he's home safe just now. I pray every day that all the rest of you will come home safe.

Message: You are my hero even as you are my son Jer. I know of your passion and belief in this country. I know that that is why you and your comrades place yourselves between us, your families, and the bitterness if war. Even as there are some in this very land of freedom who berate our country, you are out there doing the right thing. That is the true measure of a man: his willingness to do the thing because it is right, no matter what. You must know that there are legions who never cease to pray for your guidance and protection, to call down angels to guard and bless you. Be faithful Jer. God bless and keep you my precious Buddy.... Mom

Message: You are my hero son. Big brother and friend to your family and now "Daddy" and "Honey" to your precious girls: for them you willingly put yourself in harm's way. I know the pain in your heart when you leave them will be almost more than you can bear. Know that those who went before you in the annals of honorable men have felt that same anguish and heartache. Know that they and you will not be denied that which your hearts desired above the life of this body. Keep your faith Steve. I know that you will kneel with your family around that altar. God go before you my son and place His angels round about you to bear you up. We will keep the home fires burning till you are back with us. You are constantly in our prayers and we will NOT forget why you are there. Love, Mom

To let you know, I only fly on airplanes with two left wings! However, no matter our political beliefs, we have American Soldiers throughout the world and we need to think of them daily. Our Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters have, as in the past, served our country and the folks who live in it. Give this just a moment, send it along if you feel like it. I do not do this often, but a friend sent this to me and I would like to share it with you.

God Bless our Soldiers!

Message: Dear Carolyn, Keith, Stephen, Leann, Micah, and your extended family:

"May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you." (Ps.33:22)

It has now been seven months since Matt was taken captive. And, we may all start feeling discouraged that all our prayers, and all our efforts, have not led to Matt being found and brought home. But, we must not let ourselves become discouraged. Matt is depending on us. His hope and his strength to get through each day lies in this: that not only is God with him, but that he knows that there are those back home who have not forgotten about him, and will do everything they can to bring him home. These include not only his military brothers and sisters, but his own family, his friends, his community, and his fellow Americans. He's counting on all of us to pray him home. We cannot fail him now. Please, everyone, keep praying. Do all you can to keep Matt's situation on the hearts and minds, and prayers, of others. Keep on keeping on. That's all we can do. But, that's what Matt is counting on.

Matt, we have not, and will never, forget about you. Rest assured that your parents, your brothers and sister, the rest of your family, your friends, and your fellow Americans are praying for you, and are doing everything possible to find you and bring you home. Hold on, Matt.

"Raging Sea"

Sometimes the journey makes you weary

Feels like a long and winding road

Sometimes this life can lose it's meaning

But you might be surprised to find some hope

Maybe you're wondering where love is

You may feel it's far away from here

Maybe you're wondering where I am

You might be surprised to find I'm near

And when your life is tossed and turning

And you are on the raging sea

I'll come and pull you from the water

Then you will know that you are free

So if you're stumbling through the valley

Or if you're tempted to give up the fight

Reach out your hand and I will lead you

I will be your strong arm in the night.

("Raging Sea" by Michael W. Smith)

"All continued with one accord in prayer."

(Acts 1:14)

Keep on believing. God be with you all. God be with you, Matt.

So, we

Soldiers Name: Message for Maupins

Message: Maupin Family,

Today being the seventh month since your son was taken I just wanted to take the time to tell you:

I am still praying for your son. I know God is watching over all of you and I pray He will bring him home soon. In church on Sunday my sunday school class was packing a stocking for my nephew who is currently deployed in Iraq; we took the time to pray for soldiers from our church's soldier prayer list and one of the children lead us in prayer for Matt. I keep his picture and pray for him often. Your confidence in the Lord and your strength of character to lead others to support all of our soldiers when you don't have contact with your soldier has been an inspiration to me. My nephew asks me about your son on a regular basis. "Any news on Maupin?" He writes in his Instant Message. I tell him of your hope. He has told me that he looks for Matt when he is out on Patrol. He said that sometimes when he is driving down the road looking at the buildings; He realizes Matt could come running out and he would take him somewhere they could never capture him again. So do know that the soldiers in Iraq havent forgotten Matt. Keep faith I know you will see him again for he is in God's care. Lori

Dallas Howard Thank you for all of your hard work here. I know it must be very supportive to the family. Two of my nephews are in the military

one in Iraq and I know how much my family benefits from the Family web site run by one of the mom's of a soldier in my nephews company. you are doing a great job here. Thanks again Lori
