Thankfully, he returned home safely, but many of our men and women didn't, and it breaks my heart to think of that. When I saw Matt's face on television, my thoughts immediately went to you, his friends and family, and what you may be feeling. You are absolutely correct in saying freedom is not free. Please know that your son is already a hero in my family's eyes.
